7 of 7: Primitivo – #7wines7days

organic primitivo

From Dalmatian origins, Primitivo has been present in Apulia for 2,000 years thanks to the Illyrians. Currently Apulian wines are known throughout the world mostly for wines produced from Primitivo grapes, whose cultivation in the Gargano has been lost over time due to its low productivity. We wanted to recover it to show how the territorial characteristics of the Terre del Gargano can positively influence on this variety. Our efforts paid off with the gold medal obtained at the Bellavita awards in London. Dark ruby red color, the nose is spicy and fruity, with hints of black cherry, plum and blackberry. The palate is warm, soft, tannic. Great structure and great persistence. Vinification details here
